My name is Mikaela. I'm 25 and completely adore children! I have varied experience in working with children - from being a nanny, to being a ballet teacher and netball coach in high school, to doing paediatric placements during my degree. I am mature, responsible, creative, caring and down to earth. I believe in an encouraging style of child minding, and love activities such as hands on play, creative play and reading, which encourage development. I follow a child-lead style of interaction focusing on engaging with the child in a way that allows them to learn focusing on speaking, reading, and playing over screen time. I am happy to assist with homework/tutoring, preparing healthy snacks and meals, transporting children to before and after school activities and doing before and after school drop off and pick up. I have a drivers licence and have access to my own car with comprehensive insurance. I have childcare first aid (anaphylaxis and asthma), working with children’s check and police check as well as references if you would like these. My hobbies include: cooking, walking and exercising, playing with my dog, reading and watching movies.
